Perry Hill

Jake is reporting the Pirates have signed Perry Hill. Obviously to be our new 1st base coach and infield instructor.

Lots of people really respect Hill in the game. Lots. I read the Rangers thought they had him signed for this year, but he backed out because of the same reason he didn't coach last year: family issues.

I'll be interested to see why he signed with the Pirates and for how much.

Now lets make a deal for a power-hitting, right-handed outfielder, acquire a starting pitcher either as a free agent or another trade, and give Neil Walker a 2nd baseman's mit!

Wow - having Perry Hill on staff would be a difference maker - he's been flirting with the Pirates for years!

Will this require a reassignment of duties? I thought he was replacing the outfield instructor, and the third base coach (whose name now eludes me) coached the infielders.
